Floor-loading a trailer by hand means someone walks every carton deeper and deeper into a 53-foot box. An extendable conveyor ends that: nested boom stages telescope out from the dock, carrying the powered belt with them, so the working end of the conveyor is always at the load face — all the way into the nose of the trailer.
Loading, the crew stacks straight off the belt. Unloading, they feed the belt and freight flows back to the dock. Either way, nobody carries product the length of the trailer, and the conveyor retracts flush when the door closes.
